LAYA GO

LAYA GO is an Unreal Engine project developed during a 3-week workshop hosted by CG ARK in November 2021, in collaboration with three partners. The worldview is set in a near-future Earth devastated by global warming and rogue robots, where humanity shelters in a cave protected by towering bioluminescent trees — their fluorescent glow deterring aggressive machines.
My responsibilities covered ocean refraction and transparency shaders (depth-based water with varying reflections), procedural tree generation in SpeedTree with additional modeling in Maya and realistic materials via Quixel Mixer, and glowing plant shaders. Development followed a quick blockout → proportion refinement → lighting test → final assembly pipeline.
